The COPM provides the therapist with an outline for a semi-structured interview using a conversational style format that encourages the therapist to use his or her own interview style to gather information about the client. I recently administered the COPM to my 95-year-old Grandmother (Ruth) who is currently an inpatient in acute rehabilitation. On October 7th, Ruth was admitted to Blodgett when she fell and broke her femur in two places. After ORIF surgery, she was prescribed non-WB precautions for 8 weeks. Prior to injury, Ruth was living alone and independent in all ADLs. Results from the COPM can be used to set goals and detect changes in occupational performance in the areas of self-care, productivity, and leisure. This assessment took approximately 30 minutes to administer. This video was edited for time.
